Testing AMS Templates

You can use the phone emulator from the J2ME wireless toolkit to test your AMS template on your PC before installing onto a handset. The wireless toolkit can be downloaded from http://java.sun.com/javame/downloads/index.jsp. The current version at this time is the Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.5.2 for CLDC. Follow the instructions provided with the toolkit to install onto your PC. Once installed start the "OTA Provisioning" program from the start menu. Once the phone emulator is displayed select "apps" -> "install application". Enter http://kinross-wap.net/index.html as the address then choose "Go" from the phone menu. Make sure "install" is highlighted on the phone's screen and then click "install" in the phone's menu. This should then bring up a dialog confirming you want to download the application, select "install" to continue. If asked to continue due to the application not being signed select "continue". The application should then install and you can launch AMS. Once started use your message box account to login and try your AMS template.

Things To Check

Make sure you have an active internet connection and that your template has been assigned to the AMS message box you will test with.
